Davida Berry, Licensed Barber

One of many talented barbers we follow on social media, Davida, has a great story of being underestimated. We certainly appreciate her time for answering our questions and we can probably all agree that being underestimated is always a good thing. However, you better be ready to handle the yourself accordingly and not let your emotions get in the way of these amazing opportunities. What lead you to start working in the hair industry? How long have you been doing it?
-I developed a desire for hair and beauty at an early age and started studying cosmetology at the age of 15 and have been consistently practicing for over 30 years.

Would you consider this your passion? Do you have another field that you work in?
-Hair, Health and Wealth is my passion and lifestyle. It affords me the opportunity to have freedom and live life doing what I enjoy and get paid for it!

What is your craziest client story?
-Funny story. A guy comes into the barbershop I'm the only girl there (at this time I was about 19). I ask the guy if I could be of service. He boldly mocks me in front of the whole shop and says "What are you gonna do? Give me some finger waves?" He starts laughing and sits down in another barber's chair. Then I start laughing because while he's mocking me he sits in the chair of a new barber with little to no skill. The barber was failing miserably and halfway through his cut the shop owner goes over to him and tells him to go over to the young lady. "She will fix it and get you right." So when he comes over to me I ask him, "Are you ready for those finger waves?" The entire shop roars with laughter. I fixed his hair and he became a regular client of mine.

What is the one thing you want to accomplish this year in business?
-My goal this year is to build a strong residual income.

What is one long term goal you have in life?
-I started living my long term years ago by choosing to live out my dreams and fulfilling my goals. I can't ask for much more.

Are you feeling positive about the country's stance on weed?
-I believe nature has the solution for all issues. And I stand by this statement.

Lastly, what is your ideal retirement scenario?
-Retirement for me is more time with my loved ones. World travel and becoming more active in my Humanitarian efforts.
